Remember that we’re trying to get the job down in 3 or less turns. However, you’re sometimes only at 2 mana which is better reserved for a Whacker if you have one, so there is a window where Kuldotha can be used as a setup card. Ramping off of Opal and going wide with this before slamming down a Bushwhacker is what we do and the ability to do it Turn 1 or Turn 2 is what separates it from other, similar aggro decks. Holding equal footing here is Kuldotha Rebirth, with the obvious upside of turning weak artifacts like Ornithopter or a shut off Opal into 3 bodies for R.
It’s also a Surge enabler and Rebirth fodder. No one anticipates a Bushwhacker deck to be packing these little jewels that regularly provide crippling acceleration in early turns that most just aren’t prepared to deal with. What makes this deck deadly is the unexpecting explosiveness Mox Opal provides. Gobots is an aggressive, blitzing, heavily dense, creature focused aggro deck, that uses cheap artifacts and hasty goblins to overwhelm the field of an underdeveloped opponent. Still fast, but more resilient now thanks thi to the White splash. Upgraded from Mono Red for a more versatile sideboard. RIP to Gobots and all the other poor decks that hinged on Moxen :(
Here is a solid Gobot inspired deck and the strongest Moxless version I've seen. without Opal the archetype isn’t necessarily any better than other aggro decks of equal value. Opal made and broke it, giving it the speed to win as fast as other Tier 1s such as Infect or Amulet Titan nut draws, this is what separated it from other aggro and made it legitimately worth playing. What a shame, there is little in the way of a budget version of this deck. 1/15/20 Officially retired with the banning of Mox Opal.
